Life Happened...

Long story short, my SU had a detached retina and had to have emergency surgery. I'm now in the process of reclaiming my house and routine, now that Spring Break is over and my new goal is to keep him lying down so his eye can heal. I need a two-sighted husband!

I write genre fiction; one with dialogue and action. And descriptive sex. Not literary fiction, which is mainly told from an omnipresent point of view and all the sex is behind closed doors...unless you read Chaucer...

Anyway, I had no idea what to write on this subject and little time. Come back next week or visit Molly's blog. She has the full story on what's been going on.

On Vacation...Again!

This time it is Spring Break and I'm chasing my muse around the hot tub. S/he refuses to talk to me, but fleeting scenarios are tickling the imagination.

Be back next week; I have four more hours before we have to leave!

Introducing Marcus Denton

I'm back! I considered interviewing either Kevin or Tammy from my newest book, but since I've been under time constraints, I decided to re-post Marc's interview, from All She Ever Wanted, which was released back in May, and I didn't have any followers of this blog at the time:) So enjoy!

Marc, welcome and thank you for taking the time to talk with me.

Marc: Glad to be here, Kenzie. Amber sent this cream cheese croissant for you. She said it was your favorite.

Thank you! So how has your life changed in the past year?

M: I discovered my father lied to me; my soul mate lived across town; and once we reconnected, my life finally had meaning again.

Let’s back up a bit. How did you meet Amber Johnson?

M: She was working at the country club where Dad and I were members. Sometimes she waited tables, and during the summer she’d work the golf outings. One night I stayed late and we started talking. She agreed to meet me at a local bar, and after that night, I knew she was the One.

But your father didn’t approve…

M: I’d been trained since birth that one day I was going to step into his shoes, right? Marry the trophy wife, step on everyone who got in my way…But Amber blew into my life like a tropical storm and showed me what I was missing. And when I thought she’d left me, all the fight went out of me.

Yeah, it was hard to face him, but when True Love is at your side, anything is possible.

True Love? Just like that, it’s poof! You found your courage?

M: It sounds hokey, but it was as if a switch had been flipped; you know, the final straw? All of a sudden everything was clear, and I just knew what I had to do.

Any advice for anyone who reads your story?

M: Yeah. Follow your heart, or at least your gut instinct. And don’t ever let others dictate your life.

Thanks for stopping by, Marc. I appreciate you telling me your story.

M: You’re welcome. Sorry for disrupting your holiday weekend, but I couldn’t get anyone else’s attention.

That’s okay. As it turned out, you did me a favor! Again, you can buy Marc and Amber’s story, All She Ever Wanted, at http://www.freyasbower.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=208

My Man

Harrison Ford is my dream man. And the lovely Mia Watts tagged me for this 'Build Your Internet Boyfriend' Meme...

1) Hair Color and Length: I'm partial to dark hair, and while not too short, not too long either. Think Harrison Ford as Han Solo...YUM! But I also like blonds, as Robert Redford as the Sundance Kid or in The Way We Were. And yes, as I grow older, I can appreciate a hint of silver...

2) Eye Color and Facial Features: While I do like my men clean-shaven, I also find a goatee slightly sexy. And so is that picture of Gerard Butler on Mia's blog, with the scruffy look. I'll admit, Gerard is 'growing' on me. Eye color, brown or blue.

3) Height and body type: I like my men tall. Preferably 6'5" or taller. Preferably no tatts, but then again, I did once date a sailor, who had one tasteful tat on his forearm. I'm not into heavy muscular men aka The Arnold, but yes, I like a well-sculpted body. And no, can't cite an example at the moment, although David Boreanz has a shirtless pic I like....somewhere....

4) Visible Age: Thirties and above. I am in my forties, so I don't want to get too young, but a man in his fifties and sixties who's maintained his looks and body (Harrison Ford...I'm wiping the drool from the keyboard as I type!) will catch my attention.

5) Bangability: As long as he's into me and respects my right to say 'ouch' or 'NO', and this doesn't change his opinion about me, I'm all his.

6) Human or Other: Right now, he's got to be humanoid. I'm not into inter-species unless he looks human.

7) Paranormal Skills: Reading my mind. I'm shy about expressing my wants or needs sometimes, and this would eliminate any mixed signals. I want a man who anticipates my needs.

8) Interests: I'm the rare female sports lover, so I don't mind a moderate sports lover. I want him to have his own interests, but also do things with me.

9) Habitat: A tropical island, or at least the means to whisk me away to a sandy beach in the winter.

10) Special skills: I want a man with a sense of humor and a great personality. Good people skills. Good business sense. And who doesn't mind me using him for... ahem...research.

If anyone besides Mia is reading this, consider yourself tagged:)

"Mom Always Liked You Best..."

Picking my favorite character last week was easy. This week, how can I possibly choose my favorite out of the multitudes of books I've read in my forty-plus years?

Little Women: I love Jo, and her drive to be published; Beth's musical ability; Amy because she got the boy next door.

Lavryl: I'm partial to Clay and Catherine's story in Separate Beds.

Nora: There are two trilogies full of characters: The Key Trilogy and the Sisters Trilogy.

Brynn: Cress Brothers, hands down.

Cindy: I like her geeks:)

Dakota: While I like her vamps, her second book, Hello, is my favorite.

LIFE is starting to return to normal again. I should be back to my normal Monday posting:)

Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Moe....

Sigh...which character do I like best? My alter-ego has a character who pops up all the time, even interrupting a 'private' discussion. So that was easy. Me, I only have one published book and one pending, plus several more in the works. So how can I choose?

I like my men strong, career-driven, and with open hearts. But I also have a soft spot in my heart for my bad boy, who no one likes, because he's so despicable in the first two chapters. Every time I try to work on softening him up, he yells at me to leave him alone; he wants me to stay true to his character. So I leave him alone. Maybe at a later date a publisher will be willing to publish him? I keep telling people, don't give up! You'll LOVE him in chapter 6!

Sorry for the short post. LIFE exploded on me last week and only got worse this week. For details, see Molly's blog. I'm too tired to even think right now.
